Tables & desks and baby heads...

Thought it was time I did another “favorite things” blogs.  I haven’t really had a chance to show you some of the treasures we found in Texas so here are my favorites:

Everything that’s good about industrial design resides in this one piece. Clean lines, chunky proportions, heavy casters and layers and layers of chippy paint in the most perfect candy apple red and sagey-green. It’s masterful in its imperfections and undoubtedly has infinite stories to tell!

On a more whimsical note, this L-O-V-E book was rescued from the library’s trash bin; an old Reader’s Digest series transformed into art. We love a crafty upcycle!

Speaking of books: These tiny Shakespeare Sonnets are old textbooks from Yale University. The vendor had a big bucket of them and we delighted in picking out our favorites. We think they’re so sweet sandwiched between gorgeous agate bookends.

This Red Metal Desk is EVERYTHING! We were hell-bent on finding a desk at Round Top and saw only 2. But this one completely exceeded our wildest dreams. It’s so gas-station-chic, so very Art Deco, so deliciously masculine, so intensely RED, and SO. INCREDIBLY. HEAVY. If I weren’t in the business of selling things, I would build a house around this desk. NO LIE.

I’ve had a bit of a pitcher fetish since I was a kid so this 20’s-30’s Era Belgian Transfer-Ware, Gold-Leafed Wash Basin Pitcher really feeds that itch. Stuffed with white Hydrangeas, it would be a classic yet unexpectedly creative centerpiece.

I truly cannot explain my fascination with this creepy baby head planter but I saw it in passing one day and scoured the Earth for it the next. I HAD TO HAVE IT. Planted with a succulent, it’s destined to be that one quirky thing in someone’s home that catches everyone’s eye.
